Kasie was born and raised in Braman, Oklahoma population 250. I am the 2nd oldest in a family of four. Farmers paradise, multiple cousins and endless wheat fields...a childhood dream. One of my earliest memories is of my dearest cousin Cinnamon and I inventing a tag game where we created tracks through the dried manure. Growing up on a farm cleanliness and manners were not a priority. I graduated in 1999 in a class of 12. I played basketball, golf, was on the cheer-leading squad and gymnastics team. I was non-stop in high school and still live at that same speed.
I loved Braman but I craved to travel and learn about other cultures, eat different foods and meet interesting people. I just wanted something new. Having been in the same life for 18 years it was time for a change. College was a dream of mine and when I told my dad he replied, "Well you better find a way to pay for it." This led me to my first pageant, one where I won the scholastic division earning a year of college tuition at Oklahoma City University. I moved to Edmond, OK the day after my high-school graduation. I broke my poor mom's heart. |
Life in the city was a dream for me even with 3 jobs and being on the college cheer-leading team. With my calendar full, my eyes were set on a crown that I wanted to win. I had watched Miss USA and wanted to compete for the title of Miss Oklahoma USA 2002. So I trained, became focused and won. I was shocked. My family was proud and that very next year changed my life forever.
Competing in Miss USA was an extraordinary experience. I met amazing women that are still some of my best friends today. All the philanthropic work that we did in those two weeks inspired me to always continue to give back. That is why it is a priority in my life today. When I returned back to Oklahoma after Miss USA I felt the need to celebrate in South Padre Island, TX. While I was there I was approached by a model in a red Hawaiian Tropic uniform who invited me to enter the bikini contest that night. I thought I have already been in a bikini in front of the entire world. Why not? I went for it and I won. From there the Owner & Founder Ron Rice selected me to represent South Padre Island, TX in the National Pageant in Las Vegas. I won Miss Congeniality and Mr. Rice asked me to join the world traveling modeling team for Hawaiian Tropic, which I accepted.

I made the decision to move to LA to pursue my dream of modeling. I traveled the world and I had the BEST job a girl could ask for. It was the time of my life. I established myself as a model, but it wasn't enough. I had gotten a taste for more creative endeavors and I loved it. Being on movie sets was a dream and allowed me to achieve success in my entertainment career. Before I knew it my agent called the next day and I was booked on Deal or No Deal. I was ecstatic and the show was my world for the next 5 years. I was 28 and looking for change again; how ironic I became pregnant, what a blessing.
I now had the time to hone in on my love for art and interior design. I had always had a passion for it and decided to launch KLH Designs. I've designed for a multitude of high-end clientele, businesses and celebrities. I thrive in my kitchen where I am the boss. Pickling, canning, cooking, baking, everything gets my finishing touch. Full bellies and happy hearts.
I truly desire a life that is full of joy, love, and the unexpected. At the end of the day I'm a mother, a boss, a daughter and a friend. I value loyalty and commitment. Life has been an adventure for me and I am only in the middle of it. After all I am just the same ole country girl from Braman, Oklahoma I just have a bigger shoe closet now.
